The Project Contract Manager (PrCM) is a key member of the project team, working closely with the Project Manager and the project core team. They provide advice and leadership to develop, implement, and drive proactive contract/claims management and risk mitigation strategies in line with Alstom's business objectives; including extensions of time (EoT), change orders, contract modifications. They ensure proper record-keeping and preparation of files to support strong claim cases.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensures the application of the Contract, Claims and Insurance Management Manual (CCIM) and Alstom governance.
- Prepares with the project core team the Contract Management Strategy Plan (CMSP).
- Carefully analyzes the contract to build and drive the implementation of the contract/claims management strategy plan, as well as keeping it updated and communicated with the project team on a quarterly basis.
- Monitors works towards contractual obligations, including support to project schedule monitoring towards achievement of contractual milestones.
- Monitors/manages correspondence by analyzing (for and with the Project Manager/Director) incoming and outgoing correspondence with third parties.
- Closely monitors, records and informs clients/partners and any third party regarding claims/counterclaims and prepares and manages all items and supporting documents for claims/counterclaims negotiations.
- Monitors client/partner requests for variations/change orders/extensions of time. Provides follow-up, if necessary, to drive to transaction closure, including updates of VO/Delay registers, preparation of the commercial offer and prepares associated contractual letters for CD/PM/PD approval.
Role Objective
To lead customer contract and claims management within the project team.
Reporting
Reports to the Regional Contract Management Manager or Cluster Manager.
Travel
Must be able to travel up to 20-30% of the time.
Candidate Profile
Education
- Engineering degree or degree in technical sciences, economic/commercial sciences, or Law.
Experience
- Minimum of 6 to 8 years of experience in contract/claims management (preferably in customer project management) or project management.
