Eden Scott is thrilled to be supporting their valued Energy Sector client on the search for an experienced Project Development Manager - Power & Energy (Sub-Saharan Africa).

Our client is a established, well-capitalised pan‑African power generation business and they are seeking a Project Development Manager to help drive the development of large‑scale energy projects across Southern and Sub‑Saharan Africa.

This is a high‑impact role at the centre of project origination and execution — from early‑stage feasibility through to financial close — covering thermal and gas‑to‑power projects, with exposure to renewables and C&I solutions.

What you’ll do

• Lead project development activities across multiple African markets
• Structure and negotiate key commercial agreements (PPA, EPC, fuel supply, land, JV)
• Coordinate technical, legal and financial due diligence
• Build and manage financial models and investment cases
• Engage with regulators, offtakers, funders and development partners
• Present clear recommendations to senior leadership and boards

What we’re looking for

• 5–10 years’ experience in power project development, IPP, infrastructure investing or utilities
• Strong understanding of project finance, offtake structures and transaction execution
• Confident financial modeller and commercial negotiator
• Degree in engineering, science or related field (MBA or finance master’s advantageous)
• Experience working across African energy markets preferred
