Project Engineer

About the Role

The Project Engineer is responsible for developing technical concepts, advising internal stakeholders, and executing engineering projects from planning through implementation. This role ensures that all assigned projects meet cost, timeline, and functionality targets while supporting ongoing production and business objectives. The Project Engineer acts as a key technical leader, coordinating resources, optimizing processes, and driving innovation across the organization.

Responsibilities

Technical Project Management (60%)

• Lead the planning and execution of small to mid-sized investment projects with direct impact on production performance and business results.
• Perform process engineering calculations and support plant optimization initiatives.
• Conduct feasibility studies for new installations or modifications of existing plants, including cost estimation, scheduling, and functional assessments.
• Plan, implement, and support production adjustments and product launches.

Concept Development (20%)

• Develop and evaluate potential technical solutions, including assessment of advantages, disadvantages, and implementation feasibility.

Team Coordination Resource Management (10%)

• Identify, procure, and coordinate internal and external resources required for professional and timely project execution.
• Collaborate effectively within a matrix organization to ensure alignment and progress.

Process Optimization Knowledge Transfer (10%)

• Analyze and optimize process flows to improve efficiency, quality, and reliability.
• Implement solutions and share best practices to strengthen organizational know-how.

Qualifications

• Technical Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Preferred fields: Mechanical Engineering, Process Technology, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or related disciplines.
• Strong application of technical knowledge in daily engineering tasks.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and advise stakeholders.
• Highly independent, structured, and self-driven work style.
• Advanced proficiency in English and German (written and spoken).
• Innovative mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
