Project Engineer

About

We are seeking a Project Engineer to lead the development and execution of technical concepts for small to mid-sized investment projects. You will act as a key advisor to stakeholders, managing the full project lifecycle from feasibility studies and process engineering calculations to final implementation, ensuring all technical and financial goals are met.

Requirements

Non-Negotiable Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Bioengineering.
• Languages: Professional fluency in both English and German (written and spoken).
• Project Management: Proven experience managing technical investment projects (Capex), including budgeting and scheduling.
• Technical Skills: Experience in process engineering calculations and plant optimization.

Desirable Requirements

• Master’s Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Experience navigating and leading within a matrix organization.
• Previous involvement in feasibility studies for plant rebuilds or greenfield projects.
• Background in product launch coordination and production adjustments.

Responsibilities & Time Allocation

Technical Project Management (60%)

• Lead the planning and realization of small to mid-sized investment projects with a direct impact on production results.
• Perform process engineering calculations and drive plant optimizations.
• Conduct feasibility studies for new plants or rebuilds, including cost estimation and functionality planning.
• Support production adjustments and product launches.

Concept Development (20%)

• Elaborate on technical solutions, providing detailed evaluations of advantages and disadvantages to guide customer decision-making.

Resource Management & Coordination (10%)

• Procure and organize internal and external resources to ensure professional and timely project execution.

Process Optimization (10%)

• Continuous optimization of process flows and the transfer of technical know-how across the team.
