About the role
Description • A growing agricultural venture in Kano, is seeking a results-driven and technically sound professional to oversee our facility expansion and manage a portfolio ofprojects within the state. • We are looking for a candidate who combines technical expertise with the "on-site" grit required to deliver high-quality building works on time and within budget.
The Role • The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end supervision of the poultry farm expansion, including specialized agricultural housing, as well as coordinating somesmaller-scale residentialprojects in the Kano area.
Key Responsibilities • Site Supervision: Manage day-to-day constructionsoperationsof the Farm and other project sites to ensure compliance with design specifications. • Material Management: Prepare accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQ) or material schedules and oversee procurement to minimize waste. • Quality Control: Ensure that all structural work—from foundations to roofing—meets professional standards, particularly regarding heat mitigation for poultry. • Project Coordination: Manage artisans (masons, welders, carpenters) and ensure they adhere to project timelines. • Reporting: Provide weekly progress reports, including budget tracking and milestone updates, directly to the Managing Director.
Candidate Requirements • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building, or Quantity Surveying. • Experience: Minimum of 2 years post-graduation experience in site management or construction. • Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings. Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar software is an advantage. • Local Knowledge: Familiarity with the Kano construction landscape, including local material sourcing and environmental conditions. • Attributes: High level of integrity, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask across different project locations.
