What You’ll Do
- Plans, organizes and controls all resources for the successful execution of a project.
- Leads project team in the construction of projects ensuring project quality, schedule, cost control, safety and customer satisfaction objectives are met.
- Primary point of contact for Owners.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sets safety, quality, schedule, cost and owner relationship goals
- Provides input and supervises all pre-construction services such as purchase orders, subcontracts, schedules, and job cost set-up
- Project preplanning – responsible for complete and thorough planning of the project from start to finish
- Works with the Operations Manager to obtain the personnel resources required to properly staff the project
- Reviews project proposal or plans to determine time frame, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project
- Manages the financial aspects of contracts; assures job margin analysis is completed on a regular basis
- Monitors and reports project cost and schedule performance; takes appropriate action steps when needed
- Assists Superintendent with problem or conflict resolution; assist in driving subcontractors or work force
- Identify “roadblocks” or “pitfalls” and solve these problems prior to their impact on the project
- Identifies and documents claims with owners, subcontractors and vendors in a timely and complete fashion.
- Calculates costs and time extensions for proposed change orders.
- Monitors Owner’s/Engineer’s change order Process.
- Reviews Owner’s change orders documents for accuracy
- Reviews and takes action on contractor pay requests and invoicing
- Manages the scope of work and has mastery of the contract documents
- Customer Relations and Customer Loyalty – Regularly visit with and get feedback from the customer and the architect/engineer.
- Probe for problems that may not be obvious to jobsite personnel.
- Works with Estimating Team providing input on overall management of a potential project.
- Facilitate progress meetings
- Define warranty and substantial completion dates in writing
- Problem solving – Utilize “3-Day” rule
- Identifies and resolves potential claims with subcontractors/suppliers
- Assists purchasers with the definition of scope of work
- Ensures adherence to insurance, safety, labor relations, EEO and tax regulations
- Monitors and ensures quality control
- Works with Safety Manager to ensure jobs have safe working conditions and that safe work practices are in place
- Supports the achievement of EEO goals
- Establishes and maintains positive relationships with key owners
- Fosters team camaraderie; coaches Superintendents and Project Engineers and conducts regular one-to-one meetings; assures each person understands their role on the project
- Documents best practices to share with other projects; ensure best construction methods are being used
- Directs and ensures timely completion of project close-out activities
- Protects and promotes the interests of the Company; ensures all compensation for work performed is received
- Champions skill development of assigned resources through training and coaching process
- Communicates and reinforces the Company vision, values and goals to team
Must-haves in a Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management/Technology, or related field
- Five years of managerial and supervisory experience in the construction industry
- Extensive knowledge of construction methods and materials, costing, scheduling and estimating
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate people and get results through others
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level
- Strong customer service skills
- Works well in a team environment

- Required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and lift up to 25-50 pounds
