Project Manager (Civils) – BESS Project

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong civil engineering background to support the delivery of a major 400MW / 700MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Gundremmingen, Bavaria.

The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing the civil scope of works and ensuring delivery to the highest standards of safety, quality, and programme.

Scope of Works

• Site establishment and enabling works
• Drainage infrastructure
• Access roads and hardstanding
• Perimeter fencing and security works
• (FRC) works

Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the civil package on site from mobilisation through to completion
• Manage subcontractors, site teams, and suppliers to ensure efficient delivery
• Oversee programme planning and progress tracking, ensuring milestones are met
• Coordinate closely with multidisciplinary teams including electrical and mechanical packages
• Ensure all works are delivered in line with health & safety, quality, and environmental standards
• Monitor project costs, manage budgets, and report on commercial performance
• Lead site meetings, client updates, and stakeholder coordination
• Identify and resolve technical and logistical challenges on site
• Ensure all documentation, reporting, and project controls are maintained accurately

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Project Manager on civil/infrastructure projects
• Strong background in groundworks, drainage, roads, and concrete works (FRC preferred)
• Experience working on large-scale energy, infrastructure, or industrial projects is highly desirable
• Excellent knowledge of construction methodologies, sequencing, and site management
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-value project environment

Essential Criteria

• EU passport or full eligibility to work in the EU
• Willingness to work on a rotation basis in Bavaria
