About the role
Job Duties
Purpose of Position:
Manage all aspects of assigned projects. Administer selection of Architecture/Engineering (A/E) services, and administer A/E and major construction contracts. Prepare contract documents. Prepare detailed design and constructions cost estimates, and project schedules. Manage multi-projects, supervise project inspectors, administer change orders and complete project closeout. Verify accuracy of and authorize payment of A/E and construction pay requests. Continually update Architectural Consultant on project status.
Minimum Qualifications
- Extensive on site Project Manager experience;
- Knowledge and use of the Commonwealth of Virginia, Construction and Professional Services Manual;
- Knowledge of cost estimating, site planning, architectural design;
- Ability to read and interpret working drawings and specifications;
- Knowledge and experience in construction materials, methods, standard practices and procedures;
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with design professionals, contractors, fiscal technicians, project inspectors, peers and superiors;
- Valid Driver's License in order to operate state owned vehicle in accordance with current policy.
Additional Considerations
- Virginia Construction Contracting Officer (VCCO) certification preferred.
