Our client in the construction industry is seeking a highly seasoned Project Manager to lead comprehensive bridge construction and rehabilitation projects across Nigeria. This role covers a diverse portfolio, ranging from large-scale highway interchanges to medium-scale pedestrian overpasses.

The successful candidate will oversee the entire project lifecycle—from initial site mobilization and structural design review to final handover—ensuring world-class engineering standards in a dynamic international environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Oversight: Manage the full "start-to-finish" process for various bridge types (Reinforced Cement Concrete, pre-stressed concrete, steel girder, etc.).
  • Technical Leadership: Direct complex technical operations including piling, substructure works, deck casting, and structural rehabilitation.
  • Project Controls: Maintain rigorous control over project scheduling, high-value budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely delivery.
  • Stakeholder Management: Liaise with government bodies, consultants, and subcontractors to navigate the local regulatory and logistical landscape.
  • Quality & Safety: Enforce strict international Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards and Quality Assurance protocols.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience:
    • Minimum 10 years of dedicated experience in bridge construction and rehabilitation.
    • At least 7 years in a Project Management (PM) leadership capacity.
    • Proven track record across multiple bridge scales (large highway spans to pedestrian overpasses).
  • Education: Relevant professional qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering (B.Eng / M.Eng or equivalent).
  • Global Expertise: Significant international experience is highly preferred; must demonstrate the ability to adapt to complex emerging market environments.
  • Relocation: Full willingness to relocate to and work on-site within Nigeria.

  • Deep understanding of structural engineering principles and bridge-specific construction methodologies.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing large, multicultural site teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities regarding logistics and materials in remote or challenging locations.
