About the role

Position Summary

Our Client is expanding rapidly and is looking for talented managers to help continue providing exceptional professional services. This Project Manager role will be responsible for overseeing a diverse portfolio of civil/site land development design projects, ensuring client satisfaction, managing financials, and driving profitability. The position also involves direct supervision and mentoring of engineering and design team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead client management and project management activities
  • Develop and prepare proposals for clients
  • Deliver excellent, responsive client service and maintain strong client relationships
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, invoicing, and financial performance
  • Provide technical expertise to help clients achieve their development goals
  • Represent clients during key project milestones, including public presentations and hearings
  • Contribute to business development and marketing efforts for the firm
  • Lead, mentor, and develop design staff; supervise workloads, quality control, and resource planning
  • Monitor team performance, offering regular feedback and recognition
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to achieve company goals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Active PE registration in Maryland (required)
  • Minimum 10–12 years of progressive experience in civil engineering land development design (Southern Maryland experience preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing civil/site land development projects
  • Minimum 5 years of experience supervising design teams
  • Strong organizational, delegation, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to build and grow client relationships and deliver high-quality service
