About Aktiga

Aktiga is a growing Asheville-based software and marketing studio focused on building high-quality digital products and brands, both for clients and through our own internal product portfolio. Our team works collaboratively and intentionally, rooted in W. Edwards Deming’s principles of systems thinking, continuous improvement, and creating joy in work. We strive to build a culture where people do their best work in an environment of trust, clarity, and shared purpose.

We’re looking for a Project and Client Success Manager who brings structure, confidence, and support to our processes.

Role Overview

The Project and Client Success Manager will be the connective tissue between Aktiga’s internal team and our clients. Your mission is to keep projects moving smoothly, maintain clear communication, protect the team’s focus, and help ensure that we consistently deliver excellent outcomes.

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • is organized and proactive
  • understands the nuance of creative and technical workflows
  • prioritizes people as much as deadlines
  • utilizes soft skills to keep clients confident and informed
  • wants to grow with a small team doing meaningful, high-quality work

Key Responsibilities:

Client Communication & Success

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients.
  • Keep clients informed about timelines, milestones, blockers, and next steps.
  • Ensure clients feel supported, heard, and confident throughout their engagement.
  • Assist with preparing and sending meeting recaps, summaries, and project updates.

Project Coordination

  • Support planning and scoping by documenting project requirements, clarifying deliverables, and aligning expectations with clients.
  • Track project timelines, task status, and team progress.
  • Participate in the development and ongoing refinement of project management and client communication systems.
  • Help schedule and run project-related meetings, including sprint reviews, standups, client check-ins, and discovery sessions.
  • Identify bottlenecks and help resolve them collaboratively.

Budget & Scope Stewardship

  • Monitor project hours, budgets, and pacing against client expectations and internal estimates.
  • Surface any concerns and work with the team to bring clients into healthy alignment.
  • Assist in preparing progress summaries, and scope adjustments when necessary.

Team Support & Culture

  • Protect the team’s focus by streamlining client communication and updates.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement: proposing better workflows, documentation, and systems when appropriate.
  • Cultivate trust and collaboration between clients and the Aktiga team, acting as a calm, steady presence.

Success in This Role

After 90 days, a successful project and client success manager will be:

  • keeping client communication tidy, timely, and clear
  • reducing interruptions to team members
  • helping shape project timelines that feel realistic and achievable
  • improving how information flows between clients and our team
  • flagging any potential budget issues early on
  • contributing to a sense of calm, clarity, and joy in work

Qualifications:

Required

  • Comfort managing multiple projects at once.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into client-friendly language.
  • Comfort with digital cloud-based tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Slack, and Linear, etc).
  • Two years of experience in project management, client success, account management, or a similar field.
  • A collaborative working style.
  • Curiosity and a problem-solving mindset.

Bonus

  • Undergraduate or graduate training in project management or client success.
  • Familiarity with software development processes (Agile, sprints, discovery, design, QA).
  • Experience in a small agency or startup environment.
  • Interest in growing into a larger leadership role as Aktiga scales.

Compensation

  • Part-time 15–20 hours/week initially
  • Very flexible hybrid in-office/remote schedule
  • Hourly compensation of $35-40, dependent on experience
  • Access to team events, workshops, and continuing education opportunities
