We are looking for a dedicated Project Manager to play a key role in leading Commercial Construction projects, with a specific focus on Data Center and Mission Critical work. The Project Manager will provide overall leadership for successful project execution, driving positive outcomes while ensuring customer satisfaction. You'll employ clear communication, set strategic direction, and maintain high expectations with your project team.
This role demands a deep passion for construction, strong accountability, and the ability to collaborate with the executive team to maximize growth and contribute to the company's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Mentor junior project management staff on effective project management practices.
- Develop and nurture long-term relationships with Owners, Architects, Engineers, and Subcontractors to identify future project opportunities.
- Oversee procurement processes, including scope of work review, contract writing, insurance, and bonding reviews.
- Address drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, and errors through research and collaboration.
- Manage the team responsible for processing Submittals, RFI's, Change Order Proposals, Owner Billings, Time Sheets, and Subcontractor/Vendor Billings.
- Ensure timely Owner Billings by verifying work-in-place quantities from Subcontractors and Suppliers.
- Produce accurate monthly cost projections and oversee Project Schedules with regular updates.
Qualifications
- Willingness to work in Fort Wayne, IN; projects may require significant travel during the week.
- Experience with complex Mission Critical projects (such as Labs, Clean Rooms, Hospitals, and Food Manufacturing) is sought after.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred; relevant certifications or equivalent experience considered.
- 8-15+ years of experience managing commercial/industrial projects preferred (Not a Senior PM role).
- Extensive knowledge of building systems and construction methods.
- Strong financial management skills with the capability to independently oversee all aspects of a project from inception to completion.
