This is a hybrid, field-based leadership role that combines project ownership with hands-on field execution. The Project Manager is responsible for both managing projects from start to finish and actively supporting jobsite operations to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Job Summary
The Project Manager ensures the successful execution of fence & deck projects by balancing operational oversight, crew management, and customer satisfaction. This role is responsible for coordinating crews, materials, and schedules, while ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. The PM serves as the main point of contact for customers, builders, and internal teams, maintaining the integrity and reputation of Fence & Deck Connection.

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions
Customer Service & Quality Control
- Meet with customers for pre-construction walkthroughs, ensure crews have all information and materials needed for installation, maintain job site cleanliness, and perform final quality inspections.
Project Coordination
- Create material lists, work with the scheduling manager to coordinate install dates, and track project timelines and labor hours.
Crew Management & Mentorship
- Lead, train, and coach field crews to ensure adherence to company standards, safety protocols, and efficient work practices.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
Communication & Reporting
- Maintain clear communication with customers, builders, and internal teams; report project status, performance metrics, and issues to leadership.
Operational Oversight
- Monitor project budgets, material usage, and labor allocation to meet profitability and efficiency goals.
Qualifications
- Supervisory or field leadership experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills
- Ability to read and interpret site plans and project specifications
- Comfortable working independently in the field
- Capable of completing small services / comfortable working with power tools
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with CRM or project tracking software
- Construction knowledge a plus but not required

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This is a field-based role requiring regular travel to active job sites. The position involves working in a dynamic construction environment and requires the ability to perform the following essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Standing, walking, and working on uneven terrain for extended periods
- Lifting and carrying materials up to 50 pounds
- Bending, climbing, kneeling, and reaching
- Working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Using hand and power tools as needed for minor adjustments or service work
- Communicating effectively with team members and understanding verbal instructions in a construction environment
- Maintaining awareness of surroundings and identifying tools, materials, and potential hazards to ensure safe jobsite operations

Work Location
Field-based position requiring daily travel to job sites in Delaware & MD Eastern Shore. Corporate Office located in Millersville, MD for corporate meetings.
