Innovation Consulting LLC is actively seeking a skilled Project Manager for a prominent electrical construction firm in Bakersfield, CA. This is a critical role within their project management team, where you will be at the forefront of delivering quality electrical construction, engineering, and renewable energy services across commercial and industrial sectors.

Position Overview

In this role, you will report directly to the Branch Manager, overseeing all phases of assigned projects from conception to completion. You will be accountable for directing construction activities, ensuring financial viability, and meeting performance and safety standards.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead all phases of assigned electrical construction projects from inception through closeout.
  • Oversee work assignments and monitor the performance of field personnel.
  • Identify and secure necessary project resources, both internally and externally.
  • Manage project budgets, scheduling, billing, and collections.
  • Select and manage subcontractors and equipment suppliers.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including permits and correspondence.
  • Conduct project meetings, walk-throughs, and progress reviews.
  • Collaborate with foremen to ensure safety compliance and resolve field issues.
  • Perform electrical takeoffs and develop change orders.
  • Communicate effectively with owners, contractors, and design professionals to address construction challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes and company safety policies.
  • Elevate critical issues to the Branch Manager with proposed solutions.
  • Take immediate leadership of a significant multi-million-dollar battery storage (BESS) project.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and partners.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience managing Commercial or Industrial construction projects as a Project Manager or Estimator.
  • Degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of electrical installation, project estimates, and construction specifications.
  • Familiarity with union contract requirements and labor relations.
  • Proficient in project financial management, including billing and cash flow projections.
  • NFPA 70E, OSHA, and/or MSHA training preferred.

Computer Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Advanced experience with ACCUBID or similar estimating software.
  • Familiarity with Viewpoint or comparable accounting/project management software.
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and related technical programs.

Logistics

Full-time, 40 hours per week, based in our Bakersfield, CA office. Travel: 10-20% to local job sites. Vehicle allowance or mileage reimbursement is provided for job site travel. Relocation assistance will be considered for highly qualified candidates.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $110,000 - $145,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
