Work arrangements:
Due to the nature of the work and operational requirements, this position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement (combination of working onsite and telework). Employees in this position who telework will be required to travel to the designated work site at least three times per week or a minimum of 60% of their regular work schedule at their own expense.
Indigenous candidates may be eligible for an exception to this work arrangement. Alternative work arrangements may also be considered.

The role
Project Manager to support the Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Productivity Challenge Programs.
Work collaboratively with researchers, industry, academia, and government stakeholders.
Help meet objectives of driving AI adoption in manufacturing, agriculture, and clean technologies.
Report to the Program Director.
Key duties
Research relevant literature including peer-reviewed academic sources and program engagement reports.
Liaise with program technical leads, challenge officers, stakeholders, and NRC research experts.
Conduct research, writing, and editing to support program and project development.
Review and identify aligned funding sources and develop funding opportunities.
Assist in delivery of engagement and advisory meetings and support outreach activities.
Contribute to conceptualizing strategies and plans and respond to information requests.
Provide advice and technical project management support.
Assist in development of research projects ensuring clear goals, milestones, deliverables, resources, and budgets.
Provide regular updates and reports on project progress and propose changes as needed.
Plan and organize program/project meetings including agenda and minutes.
Maintain intelligence and information on projects to assist in new proposals.
Undertake special projects or assignments to further program objectives.
Screening criteria
Education
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science required.
Bachelor’s degree in another discipline with relevant work experience considered.
PMP or CAPM certification considered an asset.
Experience
Significant experience developing research projects with multi-disciplinary teams.
Significant experience managing, monitoring, and reporting research projects in AI, manufacturing, agriculture, clean technologies or related fields.
Experience with programming languages such as Python, R.
Experience applying project management and using project management software in R&D.
Experience managing relationships with multiple stakeholders.
Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams and meeting deadlines in fast-paced environments.
Experience with NRC research or challenge programs is an asset.
Condition of employment
Secret clearance required.
Verification of background over 10 years.
Must have lived in Canada sufficiently for security screening.

Compensation
Position at RCO-2 or RCO-3 level with salary range $83,985 to $139,608.
Salary determination based on expertise and experience.
Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.
