Program Manager
Bold
About the role
About The Role
We’re building BOLD in the US — starting in Michigan.
This is not a maintenance role. This is about building something from scratch.
At BOLD, we bring Formula 1 engineering DNA into high-performance, mission-critical applications, combining speed, precision, and innovation with the robustness required in defense environments.
We are looking for a Program Manager to lead the coordination, governance, and execution of complex engineering programs — primarily focused on defense and mission-critical applications.
If you’re excited about ownership, structured execution in fast-paced environments, and working on systems where reliability, safety, and performance are non-negotiable — this role is for you.
Role Overview / Mission
Lead the coordination and governance of multiple engineering projects within the business unit, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities, consistent execution, and efficient resource utilization.
Act as a key connector between engineering, operations, and leadership — enabling visibility, driving accountability, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, on scope, and at the highest standards.
What You’ll Do
- Own the end-to-end governance of multiple projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer priorities
- Maintain a consolidated view of project status, including timelines, risks, dependencies, and resource allocation
- Drive project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring scope, cost, quality, and timing objectives are met
- Identify risks and bottlenecks early, and proactively define mitigation and recovery plans
- Lead cross-functional coordination across engineering, operations, and supply chain teams
- Facilitate alignment between technical and commercial stakeholders, ensuring clear priorities and expectations
- Support and guide Project Managers, fostering consistent methodologies and delivery excellence
- Lead program-level reporting, providing clear visibility on KPIs, risks, and performance to senior leadership
- Take ownership of key or critical projects directly when needed
- Drive continuous improvement of project management standards, tools, and ways of working
Role scope & level
- Senior individual contributor with strong leadership impact
- Expected to play a key role in building and shaping project management capabilities in the US
- Reporting to: US Operations Manager
What We’re Looking For
- 7+ years of experience in project or program management within engineering or technical environments
- Proven experience managing complex, cross-functional projects from concept through delivery
- Experience in defense is strongly preferred and will be a key differentiator
Nice to have
- Familiarity with battery systems or high-voltage products
- Experience working in scale-up or build-from-scratch environments
Why BOLD
- Work on cutting-edge battery systems inspired by motorsport and applied to mission-critical environments
- Be part of building our US presence from the ground up
- High ownership, low bureaucracy, real impact
- Operate at the intersection of performance, safety, and innovation
- Exposure to diverse, high-end applications (defense, advanced mobility, motorsport)
- We combine the speed and mindset of Formula 1 with the rigor and reliability required in defense.
If you’re coming from a slow-moving environment and want to build faster, smarter, and better — this is your place.
Additional Requirements
- This position involves access to information and technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR, 22 CFR 120-130) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR, 15 CFR 730-774). Applicants must qualify as a 'US Person' as defined in 22 CFR 120.62 and 15 CFR 772.1 — meaning a US citizen, US lawful permanent resident, or an individual granted status as a protected individual under 8 USC 1324b(a)(3) (e.g., asylee or refugee). Proof of status will be required.

We offer a competitive total compensation package benchmarked to market and calibrated to each candidate's experience, qualifications, and the scope of the role. Benefits include a comprehensive offering designed to support the health, financial well-being, and professional growth of our employees. Specific details will be discussed with candidates advancing through the interview process.
