Position Summary

The Project Manager provides comprehensive leadership and strategic management for MEP construction projects, with a primary focus on HVAC systems. This role is designed for a technically proficient leader capable of steering high-stakes commercial projects from inception to completion. The successful candidate will uphold a standard of excellence in construction management, fostering cross-functional collaboration while ensuring all deliverables are met safely, on time, and within budget.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Licensure: Professional Engineering (PE) License is highly preferred.
  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 8 years in Construction Management for HVAC projects.
  • Minimum of 5 years in cost estimating for HVAC systems.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced experience with Bluebeam Revu and AIA software for payment application processing.
  • Sector Expertise: Proven track record with publicly funded projects and competitive bidding environments.
  • Logistics: Must possess an active driver’s license and the ability to travel independently to project sites.
  • Legal: Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Core Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Executive Reporting

  • Report directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), providing regular updates on project health and milestones.
  • Oversee the full project lifecycle, including cost estimating, bidding, permitting, construction execution, and closeout.
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of clients and multiple concurrent projects with a high degree of organization.

Operational Excellence

  • Quality Control: Review and validate cost-estimating takeoffs, submittals, RFIs, and change orders generated by the project team or subcontractors.
  • Project Execution: Develop and manage Schedules of Values and comprehensive construction schedules to ensure strict adherence to contract deadlines.
  • Procurement: Lead equipment procurement and strategic price negotiations with vendors; review all Purchase Orders (POs) and subcontractor agreements.
  • Client Relations: Serve as the primary liaison in construction meetings, maintaining proactive and transparent communication with all stakeholders.

Strategic Growth & Mentorship

  • Business Development: Partner with the COO to monitor market trends, material costs, and competitive landscapes to support organizational growth.
  • Team Development: Provide hands-on mentoring and training to staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional advancement.
  • Performance Management: Evaluate staff efficiency and implement process improvements to maximize productivity across the project team.
