Our Excelitas site in Göttingen is the centre of excellence for the development and production of photonics solutions for the semiconductor equipment market. For this highly demanding market, the Göttingen site supplies highly complex opto-mechanical modules, subsystems and components for applications in lithography, wafer inspection, chip bonding and packaging.

In addition, this site manufactures and supplies a broad range of optical and mechanical components, including complete optical systems, to support scientific research and development as well as industrial production.

Your Responsibilities

As an experienced Project Manager (m/f/d), you will take on the responsibility of leading challenging development projects in the field of optical components and systems for the Semiconductor Equipment Business Unit. You will independently manage projects from conception through to successful completion and play a key role in the success of our innovations.

• Leadership and Management: You will lead development projects or coordinate complex sub-projects in the field of high-precision optical components and systems. This also includes managing transfer projects between different Excelitas locations.
• Project Planning and Management: You will be responsible for the detailed planning of work packages, costs, and timelines. In doing so, you will utilize your expertise in project management tools and methods to ensure efficient project execution.
• Team Leadership and Coordination: You will organize and lead interdisciplinary teams, promote effective collaboration, and ensure communication within the project team and with external partners.
• Technical Concepts and Specifications: You actively contribute to the development of technical concepts and ensure compliance with specifications, costs, and schedules.
• Risk Management: You identify potential risks early in the project, assess their impact, and proactively develop solution-oriented measures.
• Documentation and Reporting: You are responsible for ensuring comprehensive project documentation and providing regular updates on the project’s status.
• Representation and Communication: You represent the project team and its results both internally and to our clients.

Your Profile

For this position, we are looking for a candidate with strong project management skills and a passion for technological innovations in the semiconductor sector.

• Education and expertise: You have successfully completed a degree (e.g., in physics, mechanical engineering, precision engineering, or industrial engineering) and ideally have in-depth knowledge of technical optics or optical instrument engineering.
• Project Management Experience: You have several years of experience leading projects or complex sub-projects. Proficiency in common project management tools and methods is a given for you.
• Strong Communication Skills: Your excellent communication skills enable you to interact confidently with national and international partners and customers.
• Personal Skills: You are characterized by a high degree of teamwork, conflict resolution skills, assertiveness, resilience, and flexibility.
• Work Style: An independent, structured, and results-oriented approach to work comes naturally to you.
• Willingness to Travel: You are willing to travel internationally for business.
