Project Manager

Responsibilities

We are actively seeking skilled Project Managers to lead a dynamic professional support services contract team that plays a crucial role in the Surface Ship Maintenance, Modernization, and Sustainment (SEA 21) Directorate within the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). This position involves managing a diverse team of professionals positioned to enhance the Navy's surface fleet maintenance and modernization initiatives. You will ensure that your team delivers high-quality, compliant support to critical naval operations and oversees readiness and sustainment efforts crucial for the Navy’s surface fleet.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Program Manager on program coordination, communications, and the integration of maintenance and modernization performance data in support of the Navy's Surface Warfare Enterprise. You'll oversee SEA 21 Maintenance Operations Center and Sustainment War Room operations, making sure that readiness metrics and sustainment data are precisely tracked, analyzed, and reported to senior leadership. A background in Navy project management with specific expertise in fleet readiness and sustainment initiatives is essential for success.

As a Project Manager, your oversight will encompass the overall planning, direction, and success of significant programs that address the Navy's ship maintenance and modernization needs. These multi-year programs typically contain several sub-programs and tasks. You will also be responsible for establishing and controlling technical milestones, schedules, budgets, and costs, alongside formulating and guiding technical strategies.

Required Qualifications

Mid Level

• Bachelor's degree (OR Associate's degree coupled with 6 years of relevant experience OR High School diploma with 9 years of relevant experience)
• 5+ years in a related field
• Active DoD Secret clearance and US citizenship
• Salary Range: $78,900 - $123,300

Senior Level

• Bachelor's degree (OR Associate's degree OR High School diploma with 11 years of relevant experience)
• 10+ years in a related field
• Active DoD Secret clearance and US citizenship
• Salary Range: $95,500 - $149,200

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any field
• PMP Certification
• 7+ (Mid) / 15+ (Senior) years of professional experience
• Experience managing projects within a DoD environment
• Familiarity with Navy maintenance and modernization processes
• Understanding of the Navy's surface fleet and maintenance/modernization policies
• Experience with Navy ship maintenance availability planning and execution
