About the role

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of Oracle Fusion initiatives for a retail client. You will own program governance, RAID management, milestone tracking, and vendor oversight while ensuring alignment with retail business priorities. This role requires strong ERP delivery experience and the ability to manage stakeholders across HR, manufacturing, supply chain, and finance.

Key Responsibilities

End-to-End Program Delivery

  • Own the full project lifecycle for Oracle Fusion implementations/optimizations – from planning and design through to testing, go-live, and hypercare.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, work breakdown structures, and resource allocation across multiple workstreams (e.g., HCM, Manufacturing, Finance).
  • Define and track milestones, deliverables, and success criteria specific to retail operations (e.g., seasonal go-live dates, payroll cycles, production ramp-ups).

RAID Management

  • Establish and maintain a RAID log (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) – proactively identify, mitigate, and escalate as needed.
  • Facilitate weekly RAID reviews with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Manage cross-workstream dependencies (e.g., Manufacturing → Inventory → Costing, or HCM → Payroll → OTL).

Governance & Reporting

  • Set up and lead governance cadence – steering committee updates, status reporting, phase gate reviews, and change control board meetings.
  • Provide executive-level and project-level dashboards (schedule variance, budget/effort tracking, risk exposure, go-live readiness).
  • Enforce project standards, documentation, and tollgates in a remote-first environment.

Vendor Management

  • Manage relationships with SI partners, implementation vendors, and system integrators delivering Fusion configurations and integrations.
  • Review vendor deliverables, track SOW milestones, and manage change orders or scope creep.
  • Facilitate vendor-business alignment – ensuring retail-specific requirements are understood and delivered.

Business Stakeholder Management (Critical)

  • Partner with retail leaders (Store Operations, HR, Manufacturing Planning, Finance, Supply Chain) to prioritize scope, manage expectations, and drive decisions.
  • Translate program status and risks into business impact for retail executive stakeholders.
  • Lead cross-functional workshops, requirement sign-offs, and UAT readiness.

Risk Management

  • Identify and mitigate project risks specific to retail environments (e.g., go-live during peak season, payroll integration failures, manufacturing downtime).
  • Develop contingency plans and escalation paths for critical path items.
  • Ensure compliance with retail data privacy, security, and audit requirements.

Mandatory Qualifications & Experience

  • 7+ years of Project Management experience delivering Oracle Fusion (Cloud ERP) programs – not just legacy EBS.
  • Retail industry experience is mandatory – must have managed ERP projects in retail (e.g., store operations, omnichannel, private label manufacturing, seasonal workforce).
  • Proven ownership of full lifecycle delivery (planning → go-live → hypercare) for at least two major Fusion projects.
  • Hands-on experience managing RAID logs, governance structures, and vendor SOWs.
  • Strong risk management track record – ability to foresee and mitigate delivery risks before they become issues.
  • Excellent stakeholder management – comfortable pushing back on scope creep and guiding retail business leaders through trade-offs.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • PMP, PRINCE2, or SAFe certification.
  • Experience managing projects involving Fusion Manufacturing or HCM in a retail context.
  • Knowledge of Agile or hybrid delivery methodologies for cloud ERP.
  • Experience with JIRA, Smartsheet, or MS Project for remote team tracking.

Soft Skills & Work Environment

  • Self-directed leader capable of owning program delivery fully remote with minimal oversight.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication – daily standups, weekly steering decks, RAID reviews.
  • Calm under pressure – able to manage competing retail priorities, fast-moving timelines, and ambiguous requirements.
  • Availability for occasional off-hours during go-live, period-end, or peak retail cycles.
