About
Our client is looking for a project manager to join their team.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Execution
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables
- Develop project schedules, resource plans, and budget forecasts
- Manage full project lifecycle (initiation → completion)
- Safety & Legal Compliance
- Ensure all projects comply with Mine Health and Safety Act and DMRE requirements
- Integrate safety into design, execution, and contractor management
- Budget & Cost Control
- Prepare and manage project budgets
- Monitor Capex vs actual spend and cost overruns
- Implement cost-saving measures
- Contractor & Supplier Management
- Appoint and manage contractors
- Ensure contractor compliance with safety standards and scope of work
- Manage contracts, claims, and performance
- Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with mine operations, engineering, and safety departments, and external stakeholders
- Provide regular updates to senior management
- Risk Management
- Identify project risks (technical, safety, financial)
- Develop mitigation plans
- Monitor and control risks throughout the project
- Scheduling & Progress Tracking
- Track project progress against plan
- Use tools like MS Project / Primavera
- Adjust schedules when required
- Quality Assurance
- Ensure all work meets engineering standards and company specifications
- Conduct inspections and sign-offs
- Reporting
- Prepare weekly/monthly progress reports, budget reports, and risk reports
- Report to management and stakeholders
- Commissioning & Handover
- Oversee commissioning of new equipment / infrastructure
- Ensure smooth handover to operations
- Close out project documentation
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Degree / Diploma in: Mining Engineering, Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, or Project Management
- 5–10 years in mining or heavy industry
- Proven experience managing projects (CAPEX projects preferred)
Certifications (Advantage)
- PMP (Project Management Professional)
- PRINCE2
- GCC (if engineering-heavy environment)
