Job Description

We're looking for a driven and detail oriented Project Manager who's ready to take a leading role in guiding program performance and elevating control account excellence. In this key position, you'll be the go to expert for Control Account Management (CAM), ensuring our Programs team stays aligned with established processes, compliance standards, and best practices.

As a champion for Project Controls, you'll not only enforce high quality standards—you'll also spot opportunities to streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and strengthen our overall program execution. You'll have a direct impact on program-wide cost management and performance monitoring, helping us deliver consistent, measurable results across the River Class Destroyer (RCD) Program.

Responsibilities

- Oversee the health and performance of the Program's Integrated Product Team (IPT) control accounts, ensuring alignment with cost, schedule, and scope baselines.

- Support IPT leads and CAMs in interpreting Earned Value Management (EVM) data and assembling program performance review materials.

- Collaborate closely with Control Account Managers (CAMs) to ensure control account plans, performance data, and reporting outputs are complete, accurate, and of high quality.

- Identify and drive metrics and KPIs within the control account management framework, contributing to overall program excellence.

- Facilitate program-level organizational improvements, including process redesign, tool enhancements, and cross-functional coordination.

- Prepare and present status reports, dashboards, and performance metrics to senior leadership, ensuring transparency and informed decision making.

- Serve as the central liaison between the Program Team and Project Controls, ensuring effective communication and integration of control account management practices.

- Monitor compliance with EVM standards, internal governance requirements, and contractual obligations.

- Support the Program Manager level ad hoc initiatives.

Qualifications

- Post secondary degree, in business administration, engineering or related discipline.

- Minimum 5-8 years' experience in Project Management, in defense/design/construction industries.

- Knowledge of naval design or build sectors, or major international defense contracts, an asset.

- Considerable knowledge of project management principles; PMP designation an asset.

- Demonstrated ability to apply core Project Management processes: scheduling, budgeting and cost forecasting, performance tracking, risk management.

- Strong background in stakeholder management and teamwork skills.

- Pro active and results focused.

- Strong leadership and teamwork skills; energetic and results focused.

- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Please note this position requires a full time, in office presence.
