Project Manager - SAP S/4HANA Version Upgrade

Contract: April 1, 2026 – December 31, 2026 (Potential Extension)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a critical SAP S/4HANA version upgrade for a highly reputable brand in Cape Town. You will oversee the full upgrade to the latest S/4HANA version, managing a dedicated team with all necessary resources provided. This is a high-visibility project in a stable 4-tier landscape (Dev, QA, Pre-Prod, Production).

Current Landscape

•⁠ ⁠SAP S/4HANA 2022 on HANA database.

•⁠ ⁠Modules: FI/CO, MM, SD, FSCM, Treasury, PP, PM, SDM, RFNO, C4C, CRM, PPM, PS, IBP.

•⁠ ⁠Extensive RICEFW objects.

•⁠ ⁠Integrations with multiple 3rd-party systems.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

•⁠ ⁠Lead end-to-end project delivery, from planning and scoping to testing, go-live, and handover.

•⁠ ⁠Coordinate cross-functional teams, including full access to developers, functional consultants, and basis experts.

•⁠ ⁠Manage risks, timelines, budget, and stakeholder communications for a seamless upgrade.

•⁠ ⁠Ensure minimal disruption in the 4-tier landscape and compliance with best practices for HANA upgrades.

•⁠ ⁠Drive integrations testing and post-go-live support.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Requirements

•⁠ ⁠8+ years in SAP project management, with proven S/4HANA upgrade experience (2022 to latest version).

•⁠ ⁠Strong knowledge of HANA database, key modules (FI/CO/MM/SD etc.), RICEFW, and 3rd-party integrations.

•⁠ ⁠PMP/Prince2 certification preferred; experience with agile/waterfall hybrids.

•⁠ ⁠Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and Cape Town availability (on-site preferred).

•⁠ ⁠Immediate availability from April 1, 2026.
