Our client is one of the InsurTech leaders in South Africa and have established themselves in the UK market. They are continuing their expansion into the international markets. Their mission is to be the preferred software solutions partner to the insurance industry throughout Europe, Africa, and the rest of the world. They provide a comprehensive and dynamic insurance management system that can be applied to any insurance business, regardless of currency, language, or destination.

Looking for a Project Manager that has experience working on Software Development projects and understands the SDLC. Someone that is able to work closely with developers. Looking for someone with grit, patience and perseverance. This is a 12 month contract.

Duties & Responsibilities

The core function of the Project Manager is to:

  • Planning, developing, documenting and executing a detailed project plan
  • Coordinating the efforts of stakeholders to deliver projects according to plan
  • Developing a detailed Project Charter
  • Initiating internal and external kick-offs
  • Following the Genasys project delivery process (Agile)
  • Delivering backlog refinement sessions, sprint planning, demo and retrospective meetings
  • Responsible for the full Change Management process, including all escalation and documentation
  • Risk management through the Risk Matrix and Risk management toolkit
  • Financial planning and forecasting and ensuring that milestones are achieved
  • Determine appropriate revenue recognition and ensure timely and accurate invoicing
  • Effective stakeholder management, which include ongoing engagement to ensure transparency and resolving day-to-day challenges
  • Ensure all project documents are complete, current and appropriately recorded per process
  • Maintain continuous team motivation and encouragement and provide ongoing performance feedback to ensure high-performance delivery

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualifications and experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification, with a Project management certification
  • 5 – 8 Years’ Project Management experience, with previous experience in the implementation or upgrade of software solutions
  • Previous experience within an Agile environment, with a good understanding of Agile methodologies and accepted project methodologies such as Prince2, MS Solutions Framework and PMBOK
  • Working experience with project management tools such as MS Projects and Jira
  • Working experience with Microsoft office tools, particularly MS Excel (Intermediate level).
  • Previous experience within the Insurance or InsurTech industry will be a significant advantage
