POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Student Services Business Operations Coordinator, the Project Manager coordinates and manages initiatives that advance student success and overall wellbeing. The incumbent of this position oversees the design, implementation and evaluation of projects related to student support services and grant-funded programs. The Project Manager will collaborate with supervisors to ensure programs accomplish their approved initiatives and meet compliance and reporting requirements. The incumbent of this position supports the alignment of services with district priorities, manages grant compliance and reporting, and serves as a liaison among schools, central offices, and community partners to ensure effective service delivery.

This is an ASASP Unit III Table 900 position Grade 28

Salary Range: $77,015 - $154,996

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Provides technical assistance to department projects and proposals related to student support services and program initiatives;
  • Coordinates and monitors all Student Services grant activities, including proposal development, compliance with state/federal guidelines, grant budgets, fiscal tracking, data collection and reporting;
  • Collaborates with the departmental staff to ensure successful management and tracking of annual reports and other related activities;
  • Provides a wide range of strategic planning, including establishing timelines for projects, and analytical support based on data analysis and performance measurement activities;
  • Encourages and fosters a culture of innovation within the project team by promoting new ideas, approaches and solutions to problems;
  • Maintains grant compliance and reporting, including outcome measurements, grant budgets and monitors grant status;
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement and implements changes to enhance department workflow, project outcomes and efficiency;
  • Supports departmental staff with special projects, such as committee meetings, to ensure that deadlines are met regarding communication/notification to internal and external stakeholders; and
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Thorough knowledge of the state and federal grant resources, policies, regulations and procedures as it pertains to development, implementation, compliance and reporting;
  • Knowledge of project management protocols and data analysis;
  • Knowledge on how to develop projects with timelines from conception to completion;
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple requests from schools, offices, families and community stakeholders;
  • Proficient use of technology with the ability to adapt to new technology quickly;
  • Effective human relations, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills;
  • Ability to collect, analyze and interpret data relative to projects that relate to student services initiatives;
  • Ability to keep abreast of new guidelines, practices and regulations related to project and grant management;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, staff, parents, school officials, community partners and outside agencies;
  • Ability to plan, coordinate and evaluate district-wide programs; and
  • Ability to effectively present and communicate through a variety of forums, including presentations and internal meetings.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, project management, education or a closely related field required; Masters degree preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of previous experience managing multifaceted projects with multiple teams with a track record of successfully leading projects from conception to completion, within budget and on time required; previous experience in a public school system preferred.
