About the role

Position Summary

As a Project Manager in our Transmission Line Division, you will lead intermediate and complex projects, providing critical leadership and management for their successful execution. Initially based in our Granville office, you will be involved in projects that will eventually transition to our Tampa, Florida location. This role is essential for conducting business development, preparing estimates and bids, managing project schedules, overseeing field operations, implementing effective safety plans, and accurately managing project financials. You will report directly to the Division Manager of Transmission Line.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Identify and establish relationships with new clients.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients.
  • Exemplify high business ethics and consistently promote our company culture and values.
  • Review Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and be involved in developing bidding strategies and pricing.
  • Prepare project take-offs, solicit pricing from suppliers and subcontractors, and complete bids in response to RFPs.
  • Select and train project site superintendents and foremen on job planning, contract interpretation, safety protocols, and reporting requirements.
  • Develop project initiation plans, including resource scheduling, cash flow projections, and safety plans specific to each project.
  • Conduct job site safety audits to ensure compliance with safety policies and documentation standards.
  • Create and deliver effective training programs for crews and supervisory staff.
  • Manage subcontractor relationships to ensure clear communication regarding project expectations and timelines.
  • Maintain regular communication with project sites and clients to address issues like scope changes or schedule conflicts.
  • Manage project budgets proactively, identifying and mitigating risks to maintain project financial health.
  • Oversee project cash flows, billing, and change orders.
  • Exhibit proficiency in contract management and project risk assessment.
  • Communicate project information effectively to all stakeholders.
  • Seek guidance from the Regional Manager to make sound business decisions.
  • Complete monthly work-in-progress reports promptly and accurately.
  • Reconcile revenues and expenses for each project on a monthly basis.

Position Requirements

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in engineering, construction management, business administration, or a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant field supervision experience. Utility construction experience is preferred.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, inspire, and provide clear direction.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry principles and best practices.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Travel

Some travel is required for this position, including overnight stays.

Physical Demands

This job may require frequent communication and extended periods of desk work.
