The University of Stuttgart, founded in 1829, is a leading technology-oriented university with around 21,000 students, more than 5,500 employees, and two campus areas. The University of Stuttgart celebrates its 200th anniversary in 2029. In line with its prominent role as an attractive place to study, a globally recognized research university, a driver of innovation, and one of the largest employers in the state capital of Stuttgart, it will create an inspiring and festive anniversary year in 2029.
The preparation and implementation of the anniversary will be handled by a central project team that conceives, manages, and realizes the essential anniversary formats and coordinates cooperation with internal and external partners. As part of the team, we are looking for an experienced project manager to operatively implement and coordinate the anniversary project starting in September 2026.
Responsibilities
- Operative implementation of central project tasks in the anniversary context
- Support of the 200th Anniversary Project Management and occasional representation
- Conceptual support, introduction, and further development of a central CRM system within the scope of university communication and with a view to the requirements of the anniversary project
- Coordination of internal and external project participants in the anniversary context
- Ensuring a structured information and coordination flow within the project
- Organizational responsibility for the planning and implementation of selected anniversary formats
Qualifications
- Completed university degree
- Several years of experience in managing complex projects, ideally in the university, science, or event sector
- Experience with digital tools and a good understanding of structured and data-based work processes (e.g., CRM systems)
- Very good organizational skills and a structured, independent way of working
- High communication and coordination competence
- Enjoyment of teamwork, initiative
- Resilience, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility
- Very good German language skills, good English language skills

An interesting and demanding task in a dedicated and motivated team in the Rectorate Office of the University of Stuttgart with high visibility and scope for action within the framework of a fixed-term employment until March 2030. Remuneration will be according to personal qualifications up to pay group E13 TV-L. Flexible working hours, good work-life balance, and diverse further training opportunities are available to you.
