About
Growing real estate organization is seeking a Property Accountant. This is a hybrid role (3 days in office, 2 days remote) with a genuine work‑life balance.
Responsibilities
- Review and ensure accuracy of general ledger accounts
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements (accrual and/or cash basis) for a portfolio of properties
- Lead preparation and analysis of financial packages for multiple entities
- Manage relationships with third‑party ownership groups with a high level of customer service
- Direct and improve processes to ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual close
- Lead quarterly and year‑end audit processes
- Complete special projects and stay current on accounting and real estate industry developments
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 3+ years of business accounting experience
- Real estate or property accounting experience preferred, but strong general accounting backgrounds will be considered
- Strong understanding of how financial statements tie together
- Excellent communication skills and comfort interacting with property owners and cross‑functional teams
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and deadline focus
- Proficiency with general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
