Property Accountant

A publicly traded company in the Baltimore, MD area is seeking a Property Accountant to support their growing team. This position offers a competitive salary + bonus + equity, and a generous benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Maintain financial integrity for a portfolio of properties to comply with GAAP, company policies, and contract arrangements
• Month‑end close procedures for assigned properties
• Monthly journal entries for revenue, CAM accruals, and tenant billings; accruals for monthly operating expenses; variance analysis; ensure internal controls are maintained
• Review lease documents to ensure accuracy; assist with annual adjustment billings
• Assist with preparation and analysis of budgets and forecasts
• Ensure timely payment, recording, and coding of invoices
• Assist in maintaining books and records for an assigned property portfolio; prepare balance sheet reconciliations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field (required); CPA preferred
• 2+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Familiarity with accounting systems; Voyager preferred
• GAAP and SOX knowledge
• Public Accounting and/or Property Accounting experience are a plus
