Brown & Brown is seeking a Property Risk Engineering Consultant to join our growing team.
The Property Risk Engineering Consultant is responsible for developing a deep understanding of client businesses and their unique risk profiles, identifying exposures, and coordinating risk mitigation efforts. This role involves maintaining client relationships, ensuring timely responses to requests, staying current with regulatory standards, and collaborating with internal and external partners to deliver comprehensive risk control solutions and training.
Travel
- Roughly 25‑30% travel primarily throughout the upper Midwest
- Time away from home is typically limited to short, regional trips to client facilities
- Routine trips to the Milwaukee office in support of the property team and clients based there
How You Will Contribute
- Build a detailed understanding of client operations, engineering processes, and property risk drivers through loss history analysis, site evaluations, and discussions with client engineering and leadership teams.
- Identify property loss exposures and develop practical, prioritized recommendations that support clients’ risk improvement goals.
- Develops and maintains client service plans, manages mid‑term changes and assists in stewardship reviews.
- Promptly and accurately respond to client requests. If responsibilities are delegated, follows through to ensure client receive timely response.
- Stay current on property‑related standards and codes (e.g., NFPA), and advise clients on their application.
- Review property engineering reports across client portfolios, providing feedback, technical interpretation, and guidance on mitigation strategies.
Licenses And Certifications
- Already have or working toward ARM, or CFPS, PE, or other relevant engineering/insurance designations.
Skills & Experience To Be Successful
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Engineering strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of Property Risk Engineering experience—preferably as an Account Engineer or Account Consultant with corporate account exposure.
- Strong technical knowledge of property protection systems, including sprinkler design concepts and fire protection standards, across a variety of industries. Experience in high hazard occupancies preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
- Proven ability to develop and negotiate risk improvement plans at the corporate level.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple client priorities.
Pay Range
$165,000 – $175,000 Annual
The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
