Public Sector Manager

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

• To drive the organisation’s public sector commercial strategy by delivering sustainable revenue growth, expanding market share within the construction and infrastructure sectors, and positioning the company as a preferred supplier to the government.
• The role is accountable for public sector performance, strategic stakeholder engagement, market development, opportunity conversion, cross-functional coordination, and ensuring governance and compliance.
• The candidate will operate as a strategic individual contributor, influencing both internal and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
• This role requires strong strategic thinking and execution, commercial expertise, high-level stakeholder engagement, the ability to negotiate and influence without direct authority, as well as excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills, built on integrity and professionalism.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Matric (Grade 12), Degree or Diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business Management, or Commerce.
• 5 to 8 years’ relevant experience in: Sales within building materials, construction, or manufacturing environments; Public sector or infrastructure-related projects.
• Proven experience in tender processes and submissions, contract negotiation, strategic account management and MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
