Python Backend Developer
iSphere Innovation Partners, LLC
About the role
About
iSphere is looking for a Python Backend Developer who likes building things that actually get used. This is a hands-on role supporting AI applications, focused on backend services, integrations, and making sure everything runs reliably once it’s live.
This is not a “build it and hand it off” role. You’ll build it, deploy it, and support it.
What the work looks like
You’ll be building Python services that support AI applications, including APIs, integrations, and data pipelines. That includes designing services, handling async workflows, and making sure systems scale and perform the way they should.
You’ll integrate with enterprise systems like ITSM and CRM platforms, manage deployments in cloud environments, and maintain CI/CD pipelines. You’ll also be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and improving systems once they’re in production.
There’s a strong ownership component. When something breaks, you’re part of figuring out why and fixing it.
This role is for someone who enjoys building backend systems, understands how they operate in production, and wants to work closer to AI-driven applications without losing the engineering side.
At iSphere, we look for engineers who take ownership of what they build and aren’t afraid to support it. If that sounds like you, this one will fit.
Requirements
- 3+ years of Python backend development experience
- Strong experience building REST APIs and working with async programming
- Experience with frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask
- Experience working in cloud environments (compute, storage, managed databases)
- Experience integrating with enterprise or third-party APIs
- Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of infrastructure-as-code concepts
- Experience with authentication systems such as OAuth 2.0
- Strong troubleshooting skills across application and system layers
Nice to have
- Experience working with LLMs or AI-driven systems
- Experience with Kubernetes or container orchestration
- Experience building data or document processing pipelines
- Familiarity with observability tools (logging, monitoring, performance tracking)
- Experience working in enterprise environments
