Python Backend Engineer | FinTech / Crypto Trading | Frankfurt (Onsite)

We're working with a high-performance trading firm building infrastructure at the intersection of traditional finance and digital assets.

This is not a typical backend role. You’ll be working on systems that directly support trading, real-time data flows, and automated execution in a low-latency environment.

If you enjoy building robust, high-throughput systems and want to work close to the business side of trading, this is worth a look.

What you’ll work on:

• Building and evolving a proprietary trading platform in a high-performance environment,
• Developing Python backend services that handle real-time data and trading workflows,
• Designing and optimising event-driven systems (APIs, messaging, streaming),
• Working on features end-to-end, from system design to production,
• Collaborating closely with trading, quant and infrastructure teams.

Tech environment:

• Python (core language),
• REST APIs, WebSockets,
• gRPC,
• Kafka / Redis (nice to have),
• Distributed systems, microservices, real-time processing.

What we’re looking for:

• Strong backend engineering experience with Python in production,
• Experience building scalable, reliable systems (not just CRUD APIs),
• Solid understanding of APIs, async systems, and system design,
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving, engineering-driven environment,
• Interest in financial markets, trading systems or crypto is a plus.
