Role Summary

The QA Automation Engineer II is responsible for developing and maintaining automated testing capabilities across the product engineering organisation. Working within the QA / Test Centre of Excellence (TCo E) , this role focuses on building and evolving shared test automation frameworks and tooling used across multiple engineering teams. The position plays a key role in enabling reliable automated testing within development workflows and improving product quality through scalable automation solutions. Engineers in this role are expected to leverage modern AI-assisted development practices to improve testing productivity while maintaining strong engineering discipline and building reliable, maintainable automation systems.

Key Responsibilities

Test Automation Frameworks

• Design, develop, and maintain shared automated testing frameworks used across engineering teams
• Build reusable automation components for APIs, services, and application platforms
• Ensure automation frameworks remain scalable, reliable, and maintainable
• Implement automation standards defined by the QA / TCo E capability

Automation Enablement

• Support engineering teams in implementing automated testing within their development workflows
• Provide guidance on using shared automation frameworks and tools
• Assist teams in improving automated test coverage and reliability
• Troubleshoot automation issues across multiple systems and projects

Integration with Delivery Platforms

• Integrate automated testing capabilities into CI/CD pipelines
• Ensure automated tests run reliably across development and staging environments
• Collaborate with Dev Ex and Dev Ops teams to improve testing infrastructure and execution pipelines

Quality Engineering Enablement

• Support the adoption of automation practices defined by the QA / TCo E capability
• Contribute improvements to shared automation frameworks and tooling
• Document automation usage patterns, frameworks, and best practices
• Identify opportunities to improve automation reliability and testing efficiency

AI-Assisted Testing Practices

• Use AI-assisted development techniques to improve automation development and debugging
• Evaluate AI-generated automation outputs to ensure reliability and correctness
• Apply engineering judgment to maintain high-quality, maintainable automation frameworks

Technical Skills

• API testing and automation
• Programming or scripting (Python, C#, or similar)
• CI/CD integration for automated testing
• Backend and service testing methodologies

Nice to Have

• Frontend automation experience (React applications)
• Experience testing distributed systems or microservices
• Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure preferred)
• Experience improving automation practices across multiple products or teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• Ability to design scalable automation solutions
• Strong collaboration skills with engineering teams across the organisation
• Focus on improving testing reliability and overall engineering quality
