QA Engineer

About

We are seeking a hands-on QA Engineer with approximately 6 years of experience specializing in data validation and testing of database objects across SQL Server and Oracle. This role involves writing and maintaining SQL queries for data validation, profiling, and troubleshooting, as well as developing test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria for data pipelines and database changes. The engineer will execute performance and regression checks, collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria, and perform comprehensive source-to-target data validation, including record-level reconciliation and aggregate comparisons.

Key Responsibilities

• Write clear, maintainable SQL queries for data validation, profiling, and troubleshooting data issues.
• Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria for data pipelines and database changes.
• Execute performance and regression checks for critical queries, identifying regressions due to schema or logic updates.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and product owners to clarify mappings and acceptance criteria.
• Perform source-to-target validation, including record-level reconciliation, aggregates, and checksum/hash comparisons.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with SQL queries for validation, profiling, and troubleshooting data issues.
• 3+ years of experience in data validation.
• QA mindset for data validations.
• BS in Computer Science or related field.
