Senior QA Engineer

WEDO SA is a fast-growing startup based in Fribourg. Our mission is to simplify teamwork in companies. We are developing WEDO, a collaborative platform for preparing meetings, writing minutes in real-time, and tracking tasks between teams.

We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer to take full responsibility for the quality of our product. This role is operational, end-to-end, and central to our deployment cycle. You will be responsible for manual testing, automation, and the evolution of our quality strategy – including the pragmatic use of AI to improve coverage and efficiency.

This is not a support role. You are the guarantor of quality (Quality Owner).

About the Role

You will drive the entire QA process:

• From bug report triage to regression prevention
• From test case design to automated execution
• From the current test suite to tomorrow's quality strategy

We already have:

• Documented test cases
• An automated suite of "smoke tests" based on Playwright

Your mission will be to strengthen, extend, and professionalize this foundation.

Your Profile

• You place paramount importance on product quality and user experience
• You move with ease from manual exploratory testing to automation
• You think in "systems", not just isolated test cases
• You prioritize pragmatism over dogma: good coverage > perfect coverage
• You are autonomous, structured, and capable of defending your convictions (with arguments)

Your Skills

• Solid experience in manual testing of web applications
• Proven experience in test automation, ideally with Playwright or similar tools
• Good understanding of modern web stacks (frontend, backend, APIs)
• Experience in designing and maintaining long-term test suites
• Ease in working closely with developers and challenging the status quo

Bonus Points

• Experience using AI tools to generate, improve, or maintain tests
• Experience defining a QA strategy within a small agile team
• Experience with CI pipelines and running tests in CI/CD

What You'll Do

WEDO is a rapidly expanding company that is constantly evolving. You will have the opportunity to work on many varied projects. Here is an overview of your future missions:

• Drive and evolve the end-to-end QA process
• Triage, reproduce, and validate bug reports
• Maintain and extend the Playwright test suite
• Decide what should be automated (or not)
• Reduce flaky tests and improve the clarity of results
• Leverage AI tools to increase coverage and reduce maintenance costs
• Collaborate closely with engineers to prevent regressions, not just detect them
• Continuously raise the product's quality standards
