EquityZen is looking for a QA Engineer to support the work of our growing Sales team.

This is a QA Engineering position at Director level, which is part of the job family responsible for devising test strategies, conducting and/or coordinating tests, and identifying defects to maintain high standards of performance and reliability.

Responsibilities (What you'll do in the role)
- Maintain the Regression Suite: Own and optimize our expansive Selenium‑based regression suite, ensuring it remains a reliable backbone for the development pipeline.
- Build Complex Test Cases: Design and implement robust, data‑heavy test cases that validate the integrity of our Django‑based backend and marketplace applications.
- Collaborate on Product Initiatives: Partner with cross‑functional teams to design and implement key features used by tens of thousands of customers and internal stakeholders.
- Drive Process Improvement: Use domain‑driven design fundamentals to introduce enhancements to business processes, workflows, and the overall end‑user experience.
- Rapid Prototyping: Transition ideas into reality through rapid prototypes and proof‑of‑concepts to keep our marketplace at the forefront of the industry.
Requirements (What you'll bring to the role)
- Experienced QA Professional: At least 5+ years of professional experience in Quality Assurance, with a proven track record of maintaining high standards in fast‑paced environments.
- Automation & Tooling Expert: Highly proficient in Selenium and experienced in maintaining and improving expansive regression suites within a CI/CD pipeline.
- Python Savvy: Comfortable using current Python libraries to design and implement creative, stable, and scalable test cases.
- Data‑Driven Mindset: Deep understanding of backend data structures; able to analyze data from a Django/Python backend and build complex test cases around it.
- Strategic Collaborator: Thrive when working hand‑in‑hand with designers, PMs, data scientists, and business stakeholders to ideate on end‑user experiences.
- NYC Metro Based: Located in the NYC area and value frequent in‑person co‑location to drive innovation; able to align schedule with NY market hours.
- Future‑Focused: Interested in domain‑driven design and passionate about rapid prototyping and introducing cutting‑edge improvements to a technical stack.
Compensation & Benefits
- Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $165,000 per year at the commencement of employment.
- Base pay is determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short‑ and long‑term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley‑sponsored benefit programs.
