About the Role
As a Quality Assurance Engineer III, you'll be at the forefront of our quality assurance efforts, working with cutting‑edge technologies and methodologies to detect issues before they impact our users. You'll collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable, high‑performance solutions that drive our business forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance & Test Execution: Develop detailed test plans, scenarios, and cases based on business requirements; execute manual testing across functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing cycles.
- Defect Management: Identify, document, and track defects through closure, ensuring thorough validation and complete test coverage.
- Automation Engineering: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Cypress; optimize frameworks and integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines.
- API & Performance Testing: Conduct comprehensive API testing using industry‑standard tools; perform performance and load testing using tools like JMeter or Gatling.
- Process Improvement: Recommend enhancements to QA processes, tools, and methodologies to improve productivity and quality.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior QA team members when required.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Development, and DevOps teams in an Agile environment to support high‑quality releases.
About the Team
Our team is responsible for maintaining and enhancing a large portfolio of key applications in Swiss Re P&C Reinsurance's core business, including internet‑facing APIs and applications. We guide over 250 developers, QA and DevOps engineers by removing obstacles and setting standards. Our applications serve a worldwide user base, primarily internal Underwriters, Business Service and Management user groups. We embrace Lean/Agile methodologies, primarily Scrum, and build 12‑factor applications deployed on both public and private cloud platforms.
About You
You're a detail‑oriented professional with a passion for quality and a knack for finding the needle in the haystack. You thrive in collaborative environments but can also work independently to solve complex problems. Your analytical mindset allows you to anticipate potential issues before they arise, and your communication skills enable you to effectively convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Requirements
- 6‑10 years of hands‑on experience in software testing with strong proficiency in manual testing across various application types.
- Practical experience in automation testing using Cypress and solid understanding of API testing principles and tooling.
- Experience with performance testing tools and methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of software development and QA methodologies (Agile/Scrum).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Nice to Haves
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab).
- Proficiency in version control systems such as Git.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB, Agile, Performance Testing).
