About the role
Role Summary
The Quality Assurance (QA) Lead is responsible for defining, driving, and executing a comprehensive quality strategy across all phases of the software development lifecycle. This role ensures that both functional and non functional requirements-including performance, security, reliability, and data integrity-are thoroughly validated through well designed test approaches and measurable quality controls.
The QA Lead partners closely with product, engineering, operations, and vendor teams to establish and implement a modern testing framework, covering test planning, automation, test data management, and end to end validation. This role champions a culture of quality, leads the design of robust testing practices, and ensures that every release is delivered with accuracy, stability, and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the QA strategy and test plans across functional, integration, end-to-end, regression, performance, and security testing.
- Define and scale automation at API/UI/data layers (e.g., Copado Robotic Testing /Selenium; REST/GraphQL; SQL-based data validation).
- Lead test design for complex financial use cases-contributions, grants, allocations, fees, GL postings, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Establish data quality and reconciliation controls; design golden datasets and production-mirroring scenarios for high-risk flows.
- Stand up CI/CD-friendly test suites and quality gates (e.g., pipeline triggers, PR checks, smoke/regression packs).
- Coordinate with the SaaS vendor on release readiness, sandbox strategy, environment refreshes, and defect SLAs.
- Run defect triage and risk-based prioritization; provide clear go/no-go quality signals with metrics and business impact.
- Develop UAT strategy and materials; coach business testers; formalize acceptance criteria and traceability to requirements.
- Implement performance testing (baseline, load, stress, etc) and observability of quality in production (SLIs/SLOs, error budgets).
- Drive audit-ready evidence for controls, with attention to financial accuracy, compliance, and change management.
- Mentor QA engineers and embed quality practices across product squads; evangelize shift-left and contract testing.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years in QA/Testing for enterprise platforms; 2+ years leading QA efforts for complex programs.
- Hands-on automation experience (e.g., Playwright/Cypress/Selenium) and API testing.
- Strong SQL and data validation skills; experience testing integrations, ETL/ELT, and reconciliation workflows.
- Familiarity with CI/CD (Git-based workflows), test environments, and test data management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Salesforce Financial Services/Experience Cloud integrations and event-driven architectures.
- Copado Robotic Testing experience preferred.
- Cloud platform experience (e.g., AWS) and containerized services; performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Locust).
- BDD practices (Gherkin/Cucumber) and contract testing (e.g., Pact). Familiarity with donor-advised funds (DAFs) and philanthropic
