Role Overview

We are seeking a QA Practice Head / Director to establish and lead a scalable, execution‑driven Quality Engineering function for a large enterprise client. This role is accountable for end‑to‑end quality outcomes, driving an automation‑first and continuous testing strategy, and building a high‑performing QA practice aligned to Agile, multi‑project delivery.

You will lead a lean, IC‑driven QA model, manage tooling and licenses (including performance platforms), and ensure predictable, high‑quality releases across ~10 concurrent projects.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Quality Engineering Strategy & Leadership

    • Define and execute enterprise‑wide QA strategy across:
      • Functional testing
      • Automation testing
      • Performance & non‑functional testing
    • Establish QA governance frameworks, standards, and best practices
    • Drive transformation toward automation‑first and continuous testing models
    • Align testing with business objectives and user expectations
  2. Managed Testing Services Ownership

    • Own end‑to‑end QA delivery across enterprise platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, integrated systems)
    • Manage parallel Agile execution across ~10 active projects
    • Ensure strong coverage of:
      • Application‑specific testing
      • End‑to‑end workflow validation across integrations
    • Own quality KPIs:
      • Release quality
      • Defect leakage
      • Cycle time and regression efficiency
    • Act as primary QA leader for client stakeholders
  3. Test Strategy, Scope & Planning

    • Define test scope and objectives (functional, integration, regression, performance)
    • Implement risk‑based and scenario‑driven testing approaches
    • Establish defect management lifecycle, SLAs, and reporting standards
    • Ensure testability of requirements and early QA involvement
  4. Tooling & License Management

    • Own and optimize the QA tools ecosystem, including:

    • Operate a flat, execution‑driven IC model:
      • QAs independently own modules/projects
      • Minimal hierarchy, high accountability
    • Align QA capacity to multi‑project sprint demand (1–2 projects per QA)
    • Mentor team and define explicit capability and growth paths
  6. Automation & Performance Engineering

    • Build and scale automation frameworks:
      • UI, API, regression automation
    • Ensure automation is embedded within QA roles (not siloed)
    • Define and execute performance testing strategy:

      • Documentation and test asset transition
    • Ensure rapid stabilization and continuity of delivery
  9. Continuous Improvement & Innovation

    • Drive efficiency, cost optimization, and quality uplift
    • Introduce DevOps, AI‑driven testing, and optimization practices
