A leading logistics company has an opportunity for an experienced Warehouse Manager (Pharmacist - Bachelor of Pharmacy degree) to manage their pharmaceutical products storage and distribution warehouse in Polokwane (Limpopo).

The WAREHOUSE MANAGER / PHARMACIST will manage the day-to-day warehouse operations - stock receiving, stock control, fine picking and packing, distribution, etc.

You MUST have 2+ years of Warehouse Pharmacist and/or Warehouse Manager experience of a pharmaceutical products warehouse – non-negotiable.

BEE Requirement

There is a very strong preference for a Coloured female or Coloured male. Possibly, African candidates can be considered, too.

You need to live in Polokwane, or pay for your own relocation to Polokwane and your own accommodation costs.

This is a semi-permanent role – the company is managing this warehouse on a 3 to 5-year contract. There is a possibility for renewal, or moving to another of the company’s warehouses after that.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Daily management of the warehouse:
    • Stock Control
    • Dispatch
    • Fleet & Receiving Departments
  • Manage day-to-day warehouse operations, including
    • receiving,
    • storage,
    • distribution of pharmaceuticals and medical devices.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and support the daily duties and responsibilities of the Warehouse, Stock Control, Dispatch, Fleet & Receiving Departments
  • Manage day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and distribution of pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
  • Ensure efficient security and safety of medicines and medical devices when in the warehouse and when loading the vehicles.
  • Manage and ensure picking, fine checking, and invoicing accuracy rates are maintained.
  • Manage and ensure damaged, expired and theft of stock is eliminated.

The following rates are to be achieved:

  • Expired stock: 0.15% of inventory stock holding
  • Damaged stock: 0.015% of inventory stock holding
  • Stock Take Variances: to be below 0.5% of inventory stock holding.

Additional daily responsibilities:

  • Draw up a quarterly delivery schedule and ensure that the delivery schedule is adhered to.
  • Do daily walkabouts on site to do Warehouse inspection, ensure all Warehouse Inspection control sheets and reports are completed by each department.
  • Provide a contingency plan for a delayed delivery schedule during any/and or public, religious holidays.
  • Implement and monitor temperature-controlled storage systems for products that require specific conditions and address any deviations in temperature promptly and according to standard operating procedures.

  • SAHPRA - South African Health Products Regulatory Authority
  • SAPC - South African Pharmacy Council
  • GMP - Good Manufacturing Practice
  • GWP – Good Warehousing Practice
  • QMS - Quality Management Policies

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) degree required - non-negotiable
  • 2 + years of Warehouse and/or Distribution pharmacist experience at a pharmaceutical and/or medical devices warehouse required - non-negotiable.
  • You must live, or relocate, to Polokwane (the company does not pay relocation costs)

Package & Remuneration

R1 million to R1,2 million annual package.

(About R80k ctc to R100k ctc per month).

Salary will be influenced by specific industry and warehouse experience, qualifications, etc.
