Role Overview
The purpose of this role is to ensure the accuracy, clarity, and consistency of all marketing materials, including design layouts, printed collateral, and digital/social media content.
The role requires a strong understanding of client corporate identity (CI) and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards across all outputs. Responsibilities include reviewing content for spelling, grammar, syntax, punctuation, formatting, and overall coherence before final delivery to clients or production.
This position plays a critical role in safeguarding brand integrity by ensuring all communications are precise, aligned with guidelines, and free of errors. It also involves verifying the completeness and correctness of information, identifying inconsistencies, and supporting the refinement of messaging for clarity and impact.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in English or a related field
- 5–10 years of agency experience in proofreading, editing, and/or translation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and Afrikaans
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Ability to think strategically and communicate effectively
- Proven ability to manage projects independently and meet strict deadlines

Key Responsibilities
- Review client briefs against supplied copy to ensure accuracy and clarity
- Identify and query unclear or inconsistent information with relevant stakeholders
- Ensure all content is logical, coherent, and effectively communicates the intended message
- Maintain high attention to detail across grammar, punctuation, formatting, fonts, spacing, and layout
- Detect and correct inconsistencies across materials
- Ensure adherence to brand guidelines and corporate identity standards
- Verify inclusion and accuracy of all required information, including legal disclaimers, pricing, and contact details
- Proofread all creative outputs and confirm all revisions are correctly implemented before final delivery
- Produce long-form copy when required
- Stay updated on client communication styles and standards
- Consistently verify the accuracy of all content
