Heritage PCI is seeking a highly skilled and driven Test Automation QA Engineer to join our growing Systems Team. This is a pure automation engineering role — there is no manual testing component. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and scalability of enterprise insurance platforms by owning the full lifecycle of automated testing solutions.
From designing and developing robust automation frameworks to maintaining and optimizing test coverage as business needs evolve, you’ll collaborate closely with business analysts, QA professionals, developers, and stakeholders across the organization.
Our Systems Team supports the full Guidewire Cloud InsuranceSuite ecosystem — including PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter, ContactManager, and Guidewire Digital platforms such as ProducerEngage, CustomerEngage, and VendorEngage.

What You’ll Do • Design, develop, maintain, and optimize automated test scripts for Guidewire Cloud applications using the Guidewire Testing Framework • Build and execute end-to-end API and UI test scenarios using Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) methodologies • Refactor or retire obsolete automation assets as business requirements evolve, ensuring a clean and efficient test suite • Partner closely with business analysts, QA team members, and stakeholders to define requirements, create test scenarios, and align automation coverage with release objectives • Manage test data for both transactional and administrative scenarios using Guidewire Testing Framework tools • Integrate automated test execution and quality gates into the Guidewire CI/CD pipeline, including “Add-your-own” Testing and Quality Gates functionality • Participate in release planning and readiness reviews to identify automation gaps prior to production deployment • Maintain clear and organized documentation for test scenarios, framework configurations, and coverage mapping within Confluence
Required Qualifications • 3+ years of experience in QA automation engineering within an enterprise software environment • Hands-on experience with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) using Cucumber and Gherkin • Strong experience using Karate for REST API automation and end-to-end API scenario design • Experience with TestCafe or comparable JavaScript-based UI automation frameworks • Familiarity with Gatling or similar performance/load testing tools • Proficiency using IntelliJ IDEA (Community or Ultimate Edition) • Experience with Gradle build automation • Strong JavaScript skills, including Node.js environment configuration and dependency management • Working knowledge of Java and Amazon Corretto JDK 11 • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work directly with non-technical stakeholders to define acceptance criteria and test scenarios
Preferred Qualifications • Direct experience with the Guidewire Testing Framework(GT: API Testing and/or GT: UI Testing) • Familiarity with Ignite for automated page object generation is a plus • Experience with Xray for Jira for test case management and traceability • Experience supporting or implementing: • Guidewire InsuranceSuite (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter) • Guidewire Digital (ProducerEngage, CustomerEngage, VendorEngage) • Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance industry experience, including policy lifecycle, billing, and claims concepts • Experience configuring CI/CD quality gates within Guidewire Cloud environments • Guidewire Testing Framework certification or completion of Guidewire BDD/testing courses • Familiarity with Gosu for Guidewire configuration context and troubleshooting
