What We Need:
• The Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer supports food safety, quality systems, and continuous improvement initiatives within a food manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for analyzing data, generating and distributing reports, leading improvement projects, and supporting food safety investigations.
• This is a high-visibility role with considerable exposure to senior leadership. The QA Engineer will be expected to communicate insights clearly, support decision-making with data, and contribute to strategic quality initiatives.
• This position offers significant growth potential and is well-suited for a high-performing early-career professional, including recent graduates, with strong analytical capability, intellectual curiosity, and creative problem-solving skills. This role provides substantial exposure to plant leadership and business operations and is designed to accelerate development into more senior quality, technical, or operational leadership roles.
What You Will Do:
Data Analysis & Reporting
• Develop, maintain, and distribute routine and ad hoc QA reports
• Perform advanced data analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
• Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for leadership
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of all reporting
Continuous Improvement
• Lead and execute continuous improvement initiatives related to quality and food safety
• Drive projects from concept through implementation, including:
• Problem identification
• Root cause analysis
• Solution development
• Validation and sustainability checks
• Partner with cross-functional teams to implement measurable improvements
Food Safety & Quality Investigations
• Conduct thorough investigations into:
• Food safety incidents
• Quality deviations
• Customer complaints
• Perform root cause analysis and develop corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
• Document findings and ensure effective follow-up and closure
Senior Leadership Communication & Visibility
• Reports to the Senior Director of Quality Assurance
• Prepare and present reports and findings to senior leadership
• Communicate risks, trends, and recommendations clearly and concisely
• Support leadership decision-making through strong data storytelling and analysis
• Operate effectively in a high-exposure environment requiring professionalism and sound judgment
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with QA, production, sanitation, and operations teams
• Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Support and reinforce strong food safety and quality culture
What You Need:
• Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering discipline (e.g., Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or related field)
• Proven, strong data manipulation and analysis skills (e.g., Excel, data tools, or statistical software)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational ability
• Demonstrated critical thinking and creative problem-solving capability
• High intellectual capacity and curiosity
• Creative, structured problem solver
• Detail-oriented and goal-driven
• Able to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable operating with high visibility and accountability
(Preferred)
• Internship, co-op, or project experience in food manufacturing or a regulated environment
• Experience with statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab or similar)
• Exposure to quality systems, food safety standards, or process improvement methodologies
