About the Role
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer (m/w/d) for embedded devices at our Düsseldorf site. In this role, you will work in a cross-functional team to ensure the quality of our products across both software and hardware, while actively contributing to their further development and maintenance.
For this position, you bring a degree in computer engineering or a comparable field, as well as at least two years of relevant professional experience in a quality environment.
A typical day in this role includes:
- Planning, creating, and maintaining test plans and test cases based on requirements, specifications, and risk analyses
- Performing manual and automated tests (e.g., integration, regression, and system tests)
- Verifying and validating device software and hardware
- Analyzing, documenting, and tracking defects and deviations using appropriate tools (e.g., Jira)
- Developing and enhancing automated test systems and scripts
- Conducting reliability and stability tests (e.g., ALT/HALT, long-term testing)
- Collaborating closely with firmware, software, hardware, and system engineers to identify root causes and resolve issues
- Supporting risk analyses (e.g., FMEA, technical risk assessments)
- Ensuring quality requirements across the entire product lifecycle
- Creating and maintaining traceable test and quality documentation
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of test and QA processes
Key requirements:
- Technical education or degree (e.g., IT, electrical engineering, mechatronics) or comparable qualification with relevant professional experience
- Experience in quality assurance, particularly in quality metrics, test planning, and test setups
- Programming skills (e.g., Python, C/C++) and experience with common bug tracking and documentation tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, MS Office)
- Experience working with embedded systems, low-level software, interfaces, and fieldbus systems
- Experience testing systems with and without real-time operating systems
- Independent, structured working style and strong teamwork and communication skills
- Very good German and English skills
