Introduction to the job
In our high‑tech small batch, single part and prototype production, you will support us in the high‑precision manufacture of optical components, assemblies and systems made of glass, glass ceramics and ceramics.
Role and responsibilities
As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you play a key role in maintaining and improving quality performance across products and processes. Your responsibilities include:
- You are the main point of contact for quality‑related topics for assigned products and defined parts of the production process.
- You support and improve quality‑relevant production processes to ensure stable and efficient manufacturing.
- You analyze and manage internal quality deviations, including decisions on rework or product release and coordination with relevant stakeholders when required.
- You ensure product quality by performing checks at defined inspection points and deciding on product release for shipment.
- You create, maintain, and manage quality documentation, reports, and deviation records in line with defined processes.
- You drive continuous improvement activities by tracking quality measures, supporting problem‑solving initiatives, and contributing to operational projects.
- You strengthen quality awareness by supporting training activities and collaborating closely with Manufacturing and Engineering teams.
Education and experience
- You hold a university degree in engineering or natural sciences, or an equivalent qualification with solid knowledge of quality management methods (e.g. Six Sigma, PDCA, Continuous Improvement).
- You have professional experience in the production of technical products or in quality‑related industrial functions.
- You demonstrate strong hands‑on knowledge of common quality methods (e.g. 8D, Ishikawa, 5 Why, SPC, FMEA).
- You have a solid technical understanding and are able to read, analyze, and assess technical drawings, specifications, and process descriptions.
- You perform structured root‑cause analyses and derive, implement, and track appropriate corrective measures.
- You handle quality metrics, reports, and documentation confidently to support decision‑making and continuous improvement.
- You communicate fluently in English and German to collaborate effectively with international interfaces and D&E teams.
