Role Overview
This position is for a Software Quality Assurance Engineering Advisor. The role involves independently developing and executing test scripts to ensure quality software is provided for release to production. The successful candidate will produce expert-level test plan documents, perform solution testing, and manage the release management process for changes to the IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct technical reviews of Development Test and Evaluation (DT&E) plans, procedures, and reports.
- Provide oversight of informal and formal DT&E events.
- Develop plans, procedures, and reports for system testing.
- Support and conduct system tests on software releases and patches.
- Perform analysis of documented user requirements and assist in the design of test plans.
- Participate in all phases of risk management assessment and system development.
- Ensure test design and documentation support all applicable standards, timelines, and budgets.
- Provide oral and written feedback and coordinate with stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as physical sciences, computer science, information systems, information technology, engineering, business, or finance. Five additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for the degree.
- Experience: 20 or more years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree.
- Technical Skills:
- Experience developing test plans, procedures, and reports.
- Linux operating system experience with the ability to read, debug, and analyze system log files.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Strong understanding of Quality Assurance and Test Engineering principles.
- Experience with requirements analysis.
- Ability to work with disparate or unorganized data sets.
- Clearance: Must be willing and eligible to obtain & maintain a Public Trust Clearance. Must have resided in the United States for last 3 of 5 years to be eligible for Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree with 12 years of relevant experience.
- Experience developing test plans, procedures, and reports for FAA systems.
- Experience testing FAA systems such as TFMS or ERAM.
- Experience with Oracle SQL and/or Oracle SQL Developer.
- Knowledge of the FAA National Airspace System (NAS) and the ability to develop test scenarios that mimic it.
- Familiarity with FAA SWIM NEMS.
- ISTQB Certification fundamentals.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel experience, including macro creation.
Compensation
The anticipated pay range for this position is $60.00 to $63.00 per hour. Please note that the pay range may differ based on factors such as experience, skills, and the location of the role.
