Additionally, the manager provides guidance on applying Walmart's Performance System (WPS) and supports continuous learning within the team.

Role and Responsibilities of Quality Engineer Manager:

You will lead the execution of quality loss elimination projects and support operational excellence through:

  • Leading process improvement initiatives using tools such as 5S, root cause analysis, Six Sigma, and time and motion studies to drive quality gains.
  • Coordinating with stakeholders to analyze quality losses, implement corrective actions, and ensure continuous improvement in the Distribution Center.
  • Managing project execution for top quality loss areas and assisting in building the capabilities of other area managers and associates.
  • Developing and analyzing quality loss profiles and performance metrics to support Walmart’s WPS methodology.
  • Implementing and overseeing quality-related savings projects and supporting associates with KPIs and performance improvements within the process area.
  • Building high-performing teams and fostering an inclusive workplace that respects individual differences and supports a culture of belonging.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, regulations, and ethical standards while contributing to Walmart’s culture of integrity.

Required Skills and Experience of Quality Engineer Manager:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and at least 3 years of experience in Quality or Process Improvement, or 5 years of experience in Engineering or Process Improvement with Lean Six Sigma experience.
  • Proven track record of project ownership, resulting in sustainable, long-term savings and quality improvements.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and analytical skills for data-driven decision making.
  • Experience in implementing process improvements, identifying performance gaps, and developing standard work procedures.
  • Strong leadership abilities, including the ability to mentor and develop teams, promote continuous learning, and foster a collaborative work environment.

Compensation and Benefits of Quality Engineer Manager:

  • Annual salary range: $104,000.00 - $156,000.00.
  • Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
