We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineering Manager to join a global electronics manufacturing organisation at its Erie, Pennsylvania facility. This role will lead the site’s quality engineering function, combining technical leadership with people management to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will act as a technical authority and mentor within the quality team while identifying and implementing improvements to manufacturing processes. This position offers significant influence within a smaller factory environment and is ideal for a hands‑on change agent who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges and improving operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the site quality engineering team (3 direct reports).
- Serve as the technical expert for quality within electronics manufacturing.
- Identify process inefficiencies and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner closely with the Plant Manager to strengthen quality systems and operational performance.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineers and quality personnel.
- Drive accountability across both management and shop‑floor teams to maintain high quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and quality standards, including ITAR requirements.
- Support operational goals including the planned doubling of factory output within the next two years.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience within manufacturing, ideally electronics or electrical manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated leadership and people management experience within quality or engineering teams.
- Strong background in quality engineering and process improvement.
- Experience within electronics manufacturing, ideally including circuit board production (preferred but not essential).
- Proven ability to challenge processes, influence stakeholders, and implement change.
