At our Böblingen location, we offer you both as an R&D Engineer (m/f/d) Software Development (Java).

Your Responsibilities

Advantest is the world market leader in automated test systems for the semiconductor industry. As a hidden champion, we have been developing highly innovative high-tech solutions for decades that enable our customers to test state-of-the-art integrated circuits reliably, efficiently, and in the highest quality. As an R&D Engineer (m/f/d) Software Development (Java), you will develop software in a self-organized, agile Scrum team for our V93000 SoC test platform. The team is responsible for the definition, development, implementation, and testing of new solutions in the area of test flow execution in Java. You will develop and maintain highly optimized, multithreaded Java code using modern development tools and advanced algorithms on Linux workstations. Performance, stability, and code quality are crucial success factors. You will analyze customer requirements, plan and coordinate development, design, and test activities in close collaboration with your team colleagues and with other development teams. You will gain a sound understanding of relevant customer applications and use cases, as well as a sufficient understanding of the underlying V93000 ATE hardware.

Your Profile

• Completed university degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable field.
• Experience in software development of technical systems.
• Sound understanding of software design concepts and methods.
• Practical knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design, design patterns, and test automation.
• Strong analytical thinking and approach, and strong problem-solving skills.
• Good Linux knowledge.
• Strong programming skills in Java.
• Passion for quality.
• Good communication skills and strong team spirit.
• Fluent English skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Scrum or SAFe software development processes.
• Experience with large software systems.
• Experience with generative AI.
• Good knowledge of the Git software configuration management system.
• Basic understanding of integrated circuits and electronic measurement technology.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Ruby.
• Knowledge of German.
